RA Prime Minister, Belarus Ambassador Discuss Cooperation Prospects
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia Igor Nazaruk.
Greeting the Ambassador, the Prime Minister noted that the two countries boast historically deeply-rooted friendly relations and should work together to preserve and build on them. The Premier pointed out that our country attaches great importance to active political dialogue in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as to the ongoing effective cooperation within the framework of integration associations and structures. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan welcomed the Belarusian Prime Minister’s participation in the forthcoming EAEU Intergovernmental Committee meeting in Yerevan on April 30, which is a good opportunity to discuss ways of expanding bilateral ties.
Thankful for the reception, the Ambassador noted that the bilateral relations are developing dynamically, and Belarus is keen to consistently develop and deepen cooperation with Armenia.
Nikol Pashinyan and Igor Nazaruk highlighted the activation of bilateral top-level contacts and discussed issues related to the Armenian-Belarusian agenda, including the prospects of economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister touched upon the steps taken by his government to improve the business environment and offered the Belarusian business circles a wide range of opportunities for free economic activity in our country.
Ambassador Nazaruk assured that he would convey this message to those concerned, noting that the Belarusian side is interested in cooperation in the fields of urban management, infrastructure development and information technologies. An agreement was reached to hold substantive discussions on the furtherance of economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
The Armenian Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Belarus exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. From the perspective of ensuring stability in the region, Nikol Pashinyan stressed the importance of Belarus’s balanced stance on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
