Armenian Government Approves Compensation Procedure for 2008 Unrest Victims
The Government of Armenia today approved the procedure of compensations to victims of the 2008 March 1-2 unrest in Yerevan, Armenpress reports.
The bill was presented by Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan at the August 8 Cabinet meeting.
The financial compensation will be carried out from the state budget.
Citizens eligible for applying can submit applications to the Justice Ministry within three years.
An authorized body will evaluate and validate the documents of applicants.
Legal successors of people who died during the 2008 events will receive 30,000,000 drams in compensation.
People who were gravely injuries will receive 15,000,000 drams.
People who suffered moderate injuries will receive 5,000,000 drams.
