Maria Zakharova about Pashinyan's Non-Participation in Events in Poland
Official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova has expressed full support to the stance of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in regard to non-participation of the Armenian delegation in the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the start of the Second World War in Poland on September 1, News.am reports.
''I read and endorsed the statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, and so do all of Russia’s partners,'' Zakharova declared during her weekly briefing.
Commenting on the fact whether Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will participate in the events, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan declared that the topic of the Great Patriotic War is an extremely sensitive and delicate topic for Armenia and that Nikol Pashinyan took the decision based on the plan for foreign visits and the country’s domestic policy priorities. Pashinyan wasn’t invited to the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the start of WWII, but he was expected to participate in the economic forum in Krynica. However, the Prime Minister refused to participate in the forum.
