Salaries of 200,000-300,000 People to be Raised From January 1, 2020: Pashinyan
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan speaking at the government-NA Q&A stated that the raise of ministers, deputy ministers’ salaries was not done secretly, reports Aysor.
He was asked the question by the Bright Armenia faction head Edmon Marukyan who said that he is not against rewards but is against secrecy.
“We led this process publicly. We have not cut the money from anywhere for raising salaries. It was done to get rid of inconvenient situation when an official is rewarding himself,” the PM stated.
Asked why it was done secretly, Pashinyan said it is not the right way to describe the situation.
“Every year the ministers are filling declarations. It has been done in just inner working procedure. Our ministers must get dignified salary. As to why we have not stated about it, it is the same to say this month we paid rewards, the next month we paid rewards,” Pashinyan said.
At the same time the prime minister noted that from January 1, 2020 salaries of 200-300,000 people will be raised, including the ones of the lawmakers.
“Moreover, the salaries of all citizens getting higher than 150,000 AMD will be raised,” Pashinyan said.
