I will Never Leave Trench Defending the Armenian Statehood: Serzh Sarsgyan
Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan stated in the court yard today that he will never leave the political trench, Aysor.am reports.
He said he may easily yield a position but will never leave the trench that defends the Armenian statehood.
“Two years ago they baked and sew a criminal case in the sidelines of which I was absurdly charged and the case was sent to the court. Remember, last year from this very place I stated that Artsakh would never be part of Azerbaijan, some did not understand why I was not speaking about the diesel case but about national issues,” Sargsyan said, addressing the supporters, party mates who gathered outside the court building.
“But together with you we felt, we saw, we predicted why these persecutions and illegalities are for,” he said, adding that all the persecutions were part of the anti-Karabakh chain that launched in Armenia and were aimed at discrediting people standing in the springs of Artsakh fight, bury the Karabakh issue and our national dreams.
“We will continue our fight. And now I want to once again stress the following – our warnings did not receive wide public resonance. A whole bloody war was needed with huge losses and deprivation of homeland for the people to open their eyes, for them to understand the intentions and essence of these authorities,” the third president stated.
“All those who think that Artsakh status has been solved be them in Armenia or outside of it, must understand that Artsakh, more right to say, what remained from it, will never be part of Azerbaijan,” he said, expressing pain over the impossibility of preventing the tragedy.
“But I see the way out from this tragedy. The defeatists must leave. People must elect state-oriented government who a day earlier must start working on raising Armenia’s security and people’s welfare level. There is no other way, there is no alternative,” he said, stressing that they have a professional and competitive team which will fight for the national and strong state.
“I will not leave the political trench, I am not the one who leaves the political trench. With my passed life I have proved that I can easily yield a post, for the people of Armenia I can yield a whole power but I will never leave the trench which defends the Armenian statehood. You can be sure in it,” the third president stressed.
