Davutoglu: Armenian Diaspora is our Diaspora
The Turkish Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu revealed the precondition for opening the border with Armenia – to give Azerbaijan at least one of the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Hurriyet reports. "If Armenians withdrew from at least one district, the border could be opened," Davutoglu said at a meeting with the leaders of non-Muslim and non-governmental organizations in Ankara.
He also declared that Turkey shares the pain of Armenians and they do not consider the Diaspora their enemy. "Armenian Diaspora is our Diaspora,"- said Davutoglu.
In an answer to the question why April 24 was chosen as the date for commemorating the 100th anniversary of Çanakkale battle, the Prime Minister of Turkey mentioned: "That day we were commemorating on March 18, but the opposite side – Australia and New Zealand commemorate it on April 24. That is why we chose that date to commemorate it together."
