Russia's Human Rights Council Reports Violations Against Detainees for Nemtsov's Murder

  •  EEU

A member of Russia's Human Rights Council, Andrei Babushkin, reports that  one  of the two suspects charged with the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, Zaur Dadayev, confessed under violence, BBC reports .

Babushkin, reports that during his visit to Dadayev on Tuesday, he saw "numerous wounds" on his body.

Second man charged for Nemtsov's murder, Shagid Gubashev,  also had marks  of violation  on his skin. Like Dadayev,  Gubashev also continues to maintain his innocence. According to  Gubashev  he was in Chechnya when he learned that his cousin, Dadayev, had been detained in neighboring Ingushetia. He said he immediately traveled there and was detained as soon as he arrived.

The suspect claims that it would not have been logical for him to go to Ingushetia if he were connected to the crime. After his arrival he was beaten and had a bag pulled over his head which was only taken off after arriving in Moscow, BBC reports Gubashev’s words.
