A New Member in EEU

The head of Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov said today that the boundaries between countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will open only after the ratification. First Kyrgyzstan should sign the protocols to the Treaty of Kyrgyzstan's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. Only after that the association documents should be ratified, Eng24 reports.

According to Sapar Isakov there is no any disagreement between the countries of Eurasian Economic Union (Republic of Armenia, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus and Republic of Kazakhstan) and the Kyrgyz Republic, except two fundamental issues for the KR. And it is the main delay in the signing of the final document. According to the head of Foreign Policy Department the first issue apples to the benefits to pay customs duties for the implementation of infrastructure projects under the grant and loan agreements between the Kyrgyz Republic and other countries, especially with China as the main trade partner for the country. And the second question applies to the deletion of paragraph on compulsory audit inspection system of veterinary control and mutual recognition of the Eurasian Economic Union countries for the free movement of goods of agricultural producers.

KR is waiting for the government to approve the document text protocols. All technical issues should be solved before the EEU membership meeting. KR President Almazbek Atambayev will take part in the meeting of the heads of the Eurasian Economic Union to be held in Moscow on May 8, during which the question of Kyrgyzstan's accession to the economic union will be discussed.

Kyrgyz Republic can bring its huge input to the Union. It will enlarge not only the geographical borders of EEU, but with its big economic potential can have significant contribution to the EEU. The country itself is a big market for the other EEU members.
