EU Is to Give €5.1 Million to Yemen
Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides announced that the European Commission will give €5.1 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for providing humanitarian help to Yemen, the EU official website reports.
"Due to the extremely challenging security situation, the ICRC is one of the very few international humanitarian agencies in Yemen still able to deliver much needed aid to the victims of the conflict. I commend the humanitarian workers on the ground for their tireless efforts. We are proud to be supporting their work in these difficult circumstances”, - said he.
By the new funding the ICRC will be able to provide food, water, medical supplies and other essential aid to Yemen.
