Greece cannot get Deal without IMF Support
German chancellor Angela Merkel and the President of France Francois Hollande at the private meeting in Riga told their Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras that there is no way for Greece to get any financial assistance without the agreement of the International Monetary Fund, The Guardian reports.
The stance of the Greek’s European partners comes as the IMF has been weighing whether to withhold its €3.6 billion portion of the €7.2 billion bailout tranche. The country needs this last tranche from IMF in order to avoid default.
