Iran-Armenia: Prospective Cooperation, Mutual Realization

The previous week was particularly active for Armenia and Iran bilateral relations. Foreign affairs representatives of both countries had a number of meetings in different formats. The analysis of the topics touched upon during the meetings proves that their choice was not occasional and pursued long-term goal:  based on recent geopolitical developments to further deepen Iran-Armenia relations.

Taken from this perspective it was not incidental either that the main emphasis during the discussions were on such core spheres of cooperation, as transportation and border, energy, economy and trade. The cooperation in the mentioned spheres gains even more priority after the membership of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the cancellation of sanctions imposed on Iran and the Iran-EEU future cooperation, where Armenia can have its key role because of its rich experience and  long history of cooperation with Iran.

Another important aspect to be underlined from Iran-Armenia official meeting was the reference to the international cooperation between the two countries. This is important because it gives an opportunity to the two countries to reach mutual agreement to support each other in the international organizations they are members by voting for each other or at least by not voting against each other.

If we try to sum up, then we are to state that the active Iran-Armenia relations show that the two countries realize the necessity and importance to deepen and expand their cooperation.  In addition further activation of those relations during this period proves that the sides do not limit themselves to only the realization of that importance, but try to construct substantial basis for the future prospects of development for those relations.
