Protests in Yerevan Against Constitutional Reforms
December started in Yerevan with protests. This evening the rally of the National Salvation Front "New Armenia" launched in the capital of Armenia. This front includes the civil initiative "Pre-Parliament", civil movement "Arise, Armenia!", as well as the opposition party "Heritage".
One of the activists of the protest Armen Martirosyan urged the protesters to avoid provocations and "not to touch the policemen even with a finger." The organizers of the rally called people to join them and express their protest against the Constitutional reforms.
It should be reminded that the front "New Armenia" is against constitutional reforms, the referendum on which will be held on December 6. Earlier, the representatives of "New Armenia" had announced about starting rallies from December at Freedom Square. On the eve of the protests the police had warned that it would not tolerate loosening of the situation in a small country.
