Migrants' Crimes in Cologne Grow

Police in Cologne said a large proportion of crimes in the city could be attributed to North Africans, the Wall Street Journal reports.
In 2015, more than 10% of all suspects investigated by police in the Rhineland city were from "North African countries" - defined as Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Lebanon. Around 40% of all known pick-pocketing was committed by people from these countries.
It should be noted that in Cologne, police received more than 650 complaints for theft and sexual assaults mostly against women on New Year’s Eve. Officials later said nearly all of the suspects appeared to be of immigrant backgrounds, including asylum applicants who had arrived in recent months.
