EU Parliament Urged to Verify the Information of the Syrians Killed by Turkish Border Guards

Members of the EU Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs noted that the European Union should verify reports claiming that Turkish border guards were shooting and killing Syrians fleeing their war-torn country, Sputnik News reports.
"The European Union should check the veracity of reports that Turkish border guards are shooting and killing Syrians who are trying to flee their country," the Committee said in a press release.
According to the press release, members of the European Parliament also asked the European Commission to "assess whether the EU-Turkey deal to manage migration and refugee flows can continue to apply in these circumstances."
The Committee also warned of consequences if "extremely worrying" reports from the Syria-Turkey border proved to be true.
