Police Killed a Refugee in Berlin

Police shot and killed a refugee in shelter in the Moabit area, Berlin on Tuesday night, BBC reported.

According to the representative of law enforcement agencies, a 29-year-old man tried to attack his 27-year-old neighbor with a knife, the police has tried to prevent it. Several police officers shot at the attacker, he was fatally wounded and died a few hours after the incident.

The incident has background. The 27-year-old refugee is accused of assaulting an 8-year-old daughter of the dead. The police arrived at the refugee reception center to detain the suspect.

A suspect had just been put in a police car in handcuffs when the girl’s father is said to have lunged at him with a knife. Witnesses said the father had shouted out: “You won't survive this.” Police responded by opening fire and the man, of Iraqi origin, was taken to hospital where he later died.
