Richard Mills: A Way to Democracy Is Not Electing Prime Minister's Candidate on the Streets
Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan received US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills. The interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to the internal political situation in Armenia.
During the discussion Ambassador Mills once again reaffirmed the US government's stance and stressed that all the processes should take place according to the Constitution. He added that there is no alternative to dialogue for the settlement of the political situation. "I understand that these demonstrations, civil disobedience acts are a violation of the law, and the government must ensure public order and security as best as possible. I am convinced that the way to democracy or to its strengthening is not electing the Prime Minister's candidate on the streets, during the demonstration," Richard Mills said, emphasizing the importance of dialogue between the political forces.
