President Armen Sarkissian hosted the Hero of Artsakh Arkadi Ter-Tadevossian: You are the symbol of Shushi Liberation Day

On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi, President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the Hero of Artsakh, commander of the Shushi liberation military operation Arkadi Ter-Tadevossian, the press service of the President reports.

"The liberation of Shushi is significant for us all. After Shushi was liberated, everyone knew that we would win in that war, period," President Armen Sarkissian said after he congratulated the legendary commander. "Things that happened 28 years ago received different assessments but for me, you are the symbol of the Shushi Liberation Day. Certainly, it would be great to have our other friends here with us. Every soldier resting in the Erablur is a hero, regardless of whether the state recognized him as such or not. They all are heroes.

To make the victory permanent, we need to work every day, we need Armenia and Artsakh to be strong, with strong economy and strong state structures, and strong army. Armenia and Artsakh must be strong."

Arkadi Ter-Tadevossian thanked for the words of appreciation and hospitality and noted that the victory in Shushi was a result of our nation’s unity. "The whole nation was fighting, not only the army. It is the victory of our nation’s unity. We will need that unity in the future too, for future victories," Arkadi Ter-Tadevossian said.
