Barack Obama: US is Not at War With Islam
In an event on extremism, in which representatives of 60 nations were participating, the US President Barack Obama declared that those ideologies that radicalize people should be confronted and added, “the US is not at war with Islam - we are at war with the people who have perverted Islam,” BBC reports. He called the leaders of Islamic State and al-Qaeda terrorists.
The conference was announced after the Charlie Hebdo shootings in France, but the idea for organizing it came from attacks in Canada and Australia.
