UN-Sponsored Consultations on the Yemen Crisis has Launched in Geneva
The UN-sponsored consultations on the Yemen crisis has launched in Geneva. As AlJazeera reports, the aim of the consultations is to put an end to the conflict in Yemen.
In the opening session of the talks, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for a new "humanitarian pause" at the start of Ramadan later this week.
In his turn, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the UN's peace envoy for Yemen called on "Yemen's political actors to participate in these consultations in good faith and without preconditions, and in a climate of trust and mutual respect".
Despite these calls, however, fresh air strikes were reported in Yemen.
