The Monument to Garegin Nzhdeh has Been Opened in the Capital
President Serzh Sargsyan was present at the solemn ceremony of opening of the statue of the statesman and military strategist Garegin Nzhdeh. The honour of unveiling the statues was given to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Garegin Nzhdeh’s great grandson Armen Babayan. The statue erected in the park in Hanrapetutyan street in Kentron district is of 5.7 m height and is made of bronze. The sculptor is Gagik Stepanyan, the architect is Aslan Mkhitaryan, Yerevan.am writes.
The pedestal of the statue is made of travertine and basalt combination and the popular thoughts of Nzhdeh are engraved at the platform at the bottom of the pedestal. Those present put flowers at the monument and rendered the memory tribute to the eminent statesman.
