UN: 75 Thousand Children are Dying from Hunger in the Northeastern Nigeria

Not less than 75 thousand children are at risk of starvation in the next few months in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno, they say at the UN, noting that the organization cannot cope with the humanitarian crisis erupted there, the BBC reports.

According to the UN humanitarian program coordinator Peter Lundberg, in a region where until recently the extremist group "Boko Haram" hosted, at least 14 million people needed help.

During the seven years of conflict between jihadists and the government troops, there were killed tens of thousands of people in the north-east Nigeria, and nearly two million local residents have become refugees.
