Ukraine: the Truce is Being Observed

"The truce is being observed in Ukraine and its fate will be determined this night,"- said the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov. There is no violation of ceasefire, only some clashes, the National Security Council informed. "Judging by the reports the truce is being observed by both sides of the conflict – both the militia and the Ukrainian army. Media reports give positive signals – peaceful life in Donetsk has been restored, humanitarian aid is coming,"- Dzhabarov told RIA Novosti.  Nevertheless, the Deputy Chairman accepted that he thinks about the fate of the truce with "a cautious optimism." "We remember that a ceasefire has once "observed" and would not like the repetition of that situation. I hope that the life in south-eastern Ukraine will continue to improve, but the night is ahead, which, I think, can determine the fate of the truce,"- Dzhabarov mentioned.

According to him provocations are very likely, that is why the incoming messages should be checked and it is necessary to believe only to the official statements. "I count on the fact that such high-level guarantors of the truce agreement, as the presidents of RF, France and the Chancellor of Germany will cool the hot heads in Kiev and will prevent the steps that could disrupt the truce," – the Senator said, RIA Novosti reports. Dzhabarov added that the situation in Debaltseve pocket and whether the Ukrainian army that was trapped there, will lay down its arms, is not clear yet.
