Russian MFA: Brussels does not Control the Movement of Sanctions Flywheel

The Russian MFA has commented on the extension of the sanctions on several individuals and legal entities that entered into force on February 16. "The European Union once again did not critically and impartially analyze the real reasons for the escalation of the situation in the south-east of Ukraine." The MFA called the new restrictions "inconsistent" and "illogical."

"It is particularly ridiculous that this decision was made on the background of the Minsk Agreement of February 12 in the negotiation of which the leaders of major EU countries were participating. There is an impression that in Brussels and in the capitals of the EU member countries do not have a control on the movement of the sanctions flywheel." The comment of the Russian MFA also says that these sanctions do not promote to "finding a solution in the Ukrainian internal conflict"
