Ukrainian Naftogaz Claims Gazprom
Naftogaz which is Ukraine's national oil and gas company is seeking over $16 billion from Gazprom - Russian gas giant. Both companies are locked into a 10 year gas agreement signed in 2009. Kiev has demanded, that Moscow lowers gas prices, PressTV reports.
Ukrainan Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk said on Friday, that the transit contract is not fair for Ukraine and more than $10 billion should be paid to Naftogaz from Gazprom in order to compensate the losses. In this way, the overall sum Naftogas is seeking from Gazprom in terms of the gas supply contract and the transit contract is already over $16 million.
