Yemeni Government Returns to the Country on the Background of Instability

After almost 6 months of exile Yemeni government returns to the country. Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Bahah returned to the southern port of Aden. The government was evacuated from Aden in March 2015, when Houthi rebels seized the city. The Saudi led coalition forces ejected the rebels from Aden in July and have since recaptured four other southern provinces, AFP reports. And now the Prime Minister and his several ministers return to the city to switch to their duties, although the situation on the ground remains tense and various incidents are recorded periodically.

It should be noted that Yemeni President Mansour Hadi announced Aden the temporary capital after capital Sanaa and the northern regions appeared to be under the control of Houthi rebels. At the same time there was no indication that Hadi himself was set to return. Government spokesman Rajeh Badi said Bahah and other ministers are in Aden to stay permanently, Reuters reports.

Troops from both the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are taking part in operations. More than 5,000 people have been killed in five months of war in Yemen while disease and suffering in the already impoverished country have spread. Some 25,000 have been wounded since late March, while 21 million of 25 million out of Yemen's population have been affected by the conflict. Human rights group Amnesty International said in a report that both sides of the conflict are guilty for war crimes.

It is not excluded that Iran can react strongly to Saudi operations that may further worsen the situation.
