In "Eurovision-2016" It was Politics that was Singing the Best

The Grand Final of "Eurovision-2016" has become one of the most scandalous finals in the history of the competition. The organizers assured they did everything for the depoliticization of the contest. However, politics has always to some extent influenced the results of the competition.

According to BBC, the victory of Ukrainian singer Jamala caused some mixed and contradictory feelings. On the one hand, it is difficult to deny the good vocal of the performer, but at the same time it is difficult to close eyes to the obvious political aspect of her song and victory.

It should be noted that political songs are not allowed at "Eurovision" But Jamala’s "1944" was considered an exception, because it was based on historical facts and not on current events.

According to the contest organizers, Jamala sings about the story that happened to her family. She wrote the song "1944" in honor of her grandparents, who died in exile by the Russians during the WWI.

However, the German publication Spiegel published another material stating that "Eurovision is politicized, and that's good as the international competition cannot be apolitical in such stressful times.

The impression of the users of social networks and readers of various world media about the "Eurovision-2016" were also "not that positive" mildly speaking. However, many experts believe that the leadership of Ukraine at "Eurovision" was in some way a strategic question for the whole Europe, and for Brussels, in particular. Since the mobilization of the Ukrainian people should be provided by some kind of victory. And what else than the victory at Eurovision Song Contest can bring at least a little positive in Ukrainians’ life?!

However, during this year's "Eurovision" politics was not only in the context of Russia-Ukraine relations, that was obvious. Russia's foreign interests and approaches were also obvious.

In particular, the vote of the jury was fully in line with Moscow's policy in the region. It gave the highest score - 12 points to its strategic ally Armenia, and 10 points to its business partner Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, the professional jury of our ally Georgia and partner Belarus did not find it appropriate to grant us at least 1 point.
