Thousands Left Homeless Due to Iraqi Operation in Tikrit

As a result of military operation launched by Iraq to retake Tikrit city from the Islamic State, 28,000 people are left homeless, BBC reports referring to the sources of the UN. These people are heading towards the city of Samarra. UN agencies have sent relief supplies to help those people.
It is already the fourth day the operation by Iraq has been launched. It is said that if this operation succeeds, Iraq will start an operation to retake Mosul.
