Obama in Active Negotiation with Arab World
Obama and King Salman, met before the US-GCC summit to review the agenda of the summit and agreed to work with other GCC members to build collective security capabilities, Sputnik News reports.
"The President and King Salman also discussed the importance of a comprehensive agreement between the P5+1 and Iran that verifiably ensures the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program," the release after the meeting reads.
According to the same press release Obama welcomed Saudi Arabia’s announcement of a cease-fire in Yemen to address the urgent humanitarian crisis.
Saudi Arabia is among five other GCC states, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, to meet with US officials at Camp David on Thursday to discuss regional security cooperation.
Previously the US National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes announced that the United States and GCC member states will announce plans to integrate ballistic defense capabilities after the US-GCC summit meeting at Camp David.
