Turkish Foreign Ministry Condemned Belgian Parliament for "Unjust" Decision

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has responded to the adoption of the Belgian Parliament resolution on the Armenian Genocide, calling the decision "unjust", that it "does not correspond to historical reality" and "despise the human rights", tert.am reports.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has accused Belgium of trying to "tarnish the Turkish identity". "These and similar decisions will in no way contribute to the Armenian-Turkish truce. We strongly condemn this decision that unfairly blames us, ignores the historical reality and the memory of the Turkish people," the Turkish Foreign Ministry report says.

The Turkish side also said that the parliament's decision contradicts to "the spirit established between Turkey and Belgium relations" and may harm them.
