Obama: Peace in the Middle East is Far Away
Israel and the State of Palestine should establish peaceful relations, but this seems to be far away. This was stated by the US President Barack Obama during his meeting with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin at White House, TASS reports.
"Of course, despite the fact that the prospects for a lasting peace may now seem far away, it is important to continue efforts," Obama said before the meeting. According to him, support for Israel's security is "one of the main principles of American foreign policy."
In his turn the President of Israel stressed that his country "is not in war with Islam." "We are at war with those who use the ideas to spread extremism and create a threat for all the innocent people in the world" Rivlin said.
