Armenian Genocide Memorial Center is to open in Paris. Armenian National Committee is an initiator of the project, which is organized by the assistance of the President of France, François Hollande.
"Francois Hollande is the driving force of this program. He wants the initiative to become a reality. When the members of the community met the President Hollande in 2012, this issue was also discussed and he approved the program. During these years he has always been interested in the progress of the initiative. He instructed the Paris Municipality to assist in this issue and allocate a territory for the Center. In fact, the authorities of the country are united to make the program a reality," - Armenian National Committee member Mourad Papazian informed Armenpress, noting that at present the sides are in search for a suitable building for the Genocide Memorial Center .
In accordance with the agreement, the Paris Municipality will allocate a building for the Center to the Armenian community; however the building will still continue to be the property of the Municipality.
