Nazarbayev Calls on the European Countries to Lift Sanctions Against Russia
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev urged the European countries to lift sanctions against Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
"Europe should not continue maintaining sanctions against Russia. These sanctions were not effective in the political sense," Nazarbayev said in an interview with the French newspaper Figaro.
According to Nazarbayev, sanctions hit primarily those people that have nothing to do with the Ukrainian conflict - enterprise workers, farmers, private entrepreneurs. At the same time, he said, economic constraints also affect European citizens. For example, large losses of French farmers.
